Peter Andrews, MD
Born in Canada and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Dr. Peter Andrews completed his bachelor’s degree in computer science graduating with honors from the University of Florida. After several years as a professional software engineer, he earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. His internship year was spent at the Carilion Health System hospitals in Roanoke, VA before returning, once again, to Gainesville to complete his residency and cornea fellowship training at the University of Florida. Upon completion, Dr. Andrews practiced in West Tennessee for several years before joining a multi-specialty group practice in Boulder, CO.

He is an experienced, well-rounded surgeon in the areas of cornea, refractive and cataract surgery. He has a strong interest in corneal infectious diseases. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.

Among his accolades, he is an adjunct assistant professor at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in California, a consultant for Allergan, BioTissue amniotic membrane, and Intacs for Keratoconus. He is an invited speaker and has lectured nationwide at many prominent meetings, ophthalmology residency programs, and optometry schools.

Dr. Andrews has been involved in mission trips to Jamaica for the last 11 years, as well as serving on the board for Eye Health Institute Charity. He enjoys hiking, biking, snow skiing, and surng.
Reed Parker, OD
A native of LaFayette, GA, Dr. Parker attended Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Parker is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry.

Dr. Parker joined SouthEast Eye Specialists in 2015 as a consultative optometrist. In 2018, he was named Tennessee’s Young Optometrist of the Year by the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians.
​
Prior to joining SouthEast Eye Specialists, Dr. Parker completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive Surgery at BVA Advanced Eye Care in Edmond, Oklahoma and nJoy Vision in Oklahoma City. During his residency, Dr. Parker provided cataract and corneal surgery pre/post-operative care, full-scope referral-based ocular disease management including performing anterior segment laser procedures, minor surgical procedures, and posterior segment disease/glaucoma management. While at nJoy Vision, he provided candidate selection for corneal refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, ICL), femtosecond cataract surgery, and presbyopia correcting cataract surgery. Notably, he was involved in a clinical trial and performed corneal collagen cross-linking (a treatment for keratoconus).

While at UABSO, Dr. Parker received the Vision America Co-management award for excellence in surgical co-management care. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an active member of the American Optometric Association, and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians. He served as President of the East Tennessee Optometric Society in 2018, and has served as co-chair of the TAOP education committee. He has been a volunteer at Remote Area Medical (RAM) and Volunteering Optometric Services for Humanity (VOSH).
